Nome’s housing inventory remains tight, which is good news for sellers—but it doesn’t mean buyers will pay any price.
With mortgage rates rising, buyers have less purchasing power, and lenders still require appraisals. Overpricing a home can cause serious buyers to pass it by during the critical first weeks on the market.
This is where local experience matters. Nome has limited comparable sales, no traditional MLS, and properties that vary widely in construction, utilities, location, views and condition.
An out-of-town agent may promise a higher listing price to get your business. But a high asking price isn’t the same as a high selling price.
Nome Sweet Homes has been selling Nome real estate since 2007. We don’t compete for listings by promising the biggest number. We price based on what we know about the local market and what buyers are actually willing and able to pay.
Don’t choose the broker who gives you the highest number. Choose the broker who can show you why your home is worth it.
